!NEWS FLASH!

The Faculty of Science at the University of Melbourne has entered SSF Australia’s “water monitoring” program into the MacJannet Prize for Global Citizenship. These awards are a joint program between the Tallories Network and MacJannet Foundation, and recognize exceptional student civic engagement initiatives based in Talloires Network member universities.

SSF Australia thanks the Faculty of Science, at the University of Melbourne for supporting us.

First Networking / Social drinks for young scientists is planned for 6th of March. Time and venue to be advised.

Ongoing Items

The Educational Resource Drive is always going! Please donate any old tertiary textbooks, monographs or other educational material. Pick up of heavy loads can be arranged for Victoria only.

The Werribee River monitoring group meets the Saturday before the 25th of the month for their monthly water monitoring program. Meet 7 am at K cliffs bluff, K street, Werribee (past the Werribee Zoo). All are welcome, and car pooling can be arranged. Remember to bring your boots!

The Moonee Ponds Creek monitoring group meets the first Saturday of the month (excluding January, when it is the second Saturday) for their monthly water monitoring program. Meet 7 am at Five mile creek reserve, end of Government Rd, Essendon. All are welcome, with public transport (both trains and trams) nearby. Remember to bring thick rubber gloves.
